During the VIWO project we have organized :

  • 4 student´s workshops and 45 different students have been taking part of foreign workshop. In every workshop there has been always at least 5 local students, so more than 60 different students have been involded.
  • 4 virtual workshops, where not only those students who were taking part of the workshop abroad took part, but also several of their classmates. So more than  200 students have done the virtual tasks, unfortunately all the results are not loaded on the blogpages.
  • on this webpage and four connected workpackages (Workpackage1, Workpackage2, Workpackage3, Workpackage4) we are trying to show other people how we have used free to use software as a learning platform.
  • 4 teacher´s workshops and 15 different teachers have been taking part of the foreign workshops, but total number of teachers involded is 19.

Dissemination:

We have organized two larger  multiplier events (30.09.2016 in Hürth and 9.5.2017 in Kouvola) and two smaller events for more focused target groups.
From Blogger it has been also possible to follow number of viewers in our internet site (www.viwoproject.blogspot.com)

Learning outcomes:

Students have told that they have learned /During the project we have arranged inquires for the students.

Some answers to a question "Professional thing(s) what I have learnt during the VIWO project?"
  • Using my skill in a whole new field of art
  • Speaking more English to others.
  • I learned a lot about different cultures, how people do things so differently when they are, in comparison globally, so close to each other. I learned some shortcuts in Photoshop in Finland from my Spanish team member, and learned a bit more about the conceptional process, and how to see things differently.
  • It´s nice to see that it´s not so difficult to plan things with other countries students. We are quite the same.
  • I've discovered that I really enjoy working on a team, instead of by myself. And if you find a team where everyone is involved with the project, it feels professional and it makes you feel satisfied.

Teachers have written to their feedback /final reports:

"Other teachers have given us the opportunity to learn about other methods, share experiences, make friends and above all we have facilitated a contact that will allow us to continue to maintain a professional relationship that will benefit our students and educational centers in future mobility experiences. We now know what each center can provide and this can be used to continue working together for a more global and unitary education."

"Being part of the project and getting to know, how the colleagues from partner school work, what kind of techniques they use and structure of tasks helped a lot to get new ideas and approaches for our own work. With that kind of knowledge and ideas we can also inspire other colleagues of our own school, who were probably not directly involved in the ViWO-Project, also from different departments and working fields."

What we should have done differently/ what kind of things didn´t go so well during the VIWOproject?

  • We decided timetable for the project at the kick-off meeting but it should have been even more detailed. Now we didn´t have enought time between some workpackages to do the virtual tasks with the students.
  • Project management and financing rules were in KA2projects was something new for all of us, which caused problems. Next time we know more, if the rules hasn´t changed.
  • Virtual part ended up to be quite light. We wanted to trust peer learning with VIWOteachers, but it would have been wise to ask more experienced help to do it.
